Gone so soon

I wish we had Christmas every day, or for every holiday instead. (Karina)

Christmas party, these guys loved seeing a "fat" Santa. Karina was a bit concerned the Santa at her school was skinny! She even said he might not be the real Santa. I have come to the conclusion that our kids may know he is not real, but they will never want to admit it, which is fine with me.

Two things I do want to stop doing. One, never put the reindeer food right outside your front door, because it will be inside your house in no time. Two, is I wish Santa wouldn't be so darn picky about what kind of cookies he would like to have left behind. Grant told the kids Santa would not leave presents for them if they did not make sugar cookies for him to eat, this after I had told them we were going to leave choc. chip cookies this year, to change things up a bit. But that quickly changed. So maybe next year Grant should be helping us make all those cookies for "Santa", was my only response to that.
Our version of can you find waldo?? (or Tosh)
This guy Loved this one present in particular, he would not get off the horse, in fact if the only way we could make him open presents was while he was on the horse. This is all he did Christmas day no joke and the day after. It was SO darn cute.

Ballet

This last Monday was Karina's little dance recital. It was very cute and it only lasted about one hour. They have their real cute and elaborate recital in June. But here we got to see some somethings they practice in class and a cute little routine to go with it.
How would you like to be able to do this?
Our little Karina has come along ways from when she started at 22 months where she just stared at the teacher and stood around while the other girls dance and twirled around her. Now she loves it and would like to give Irish dance a try.

They are home!

The grandparents are finally home from their mission in Hong Kong. For those of you who do not know what a mission is, it is a period of time when either 19 yr old boys or 21 yr old girls, or in this case a senior couple leave their home and go a serve an LDS mission sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in what ever country they were assingned in this case for a little over a year and a half. They arrived about 2 weeks ago and our children were so, so excited to see them. My favorite was when we got to their home and a little neighbor girl was waiting for them and told them they were gone for a long time and she had missed them, and if she remembered making cookies with her. Grandma had previously been her primary teacher it was very, cute and sweet. I think it safe to say they were greatly missed by all who knew them and loved them.

These are only some of the grandkids, the other half was either hiding or in school.

School pictures 2009

For Troy's preschool pictures we were lucky to have gotten pictures taken from Skye J, whose little boy is in our class and which I am a new big fan of, the pictures were ADORABLE at least our Troy boy was. The class shots were hilarious and very cute. Her site has some real awesome pictures take a look. here

Pretty cute picture, we thought. She told us she had done a cuter pose but the guy picked this one and she did not like it that much, as the real cute one. After, I realized that Skye's pics make Cory Adams photography not look so hot, but she's still cute to us and after all they are only "school" pictures. I should also mention how these were taken at the beginning of the school year but due to some scanning issues it has only taken me a couple of months to do it, and as you can see I still did not manage to scan it well but I did my best.

The Birds

I looked out my window and what did I see?
Black birds eating all my grass and dirt.

It was a bit scary, our entire yard was covered with these guys, it gave me a better understanding of Alfred Hitchcock's idea for his movie. It gave me a false sense, that if I would have gone out there they could have eaten me or a small child for that matter.

Family pics

This is Grant in the morning after playing basketball. By Karina.

This is our family, all five of us. I'm the little princess up here said Karina and Trey is the bigger of the boys, and if you will notice Troy and I have curly hair.
By Karina.
My favorite was one that did not get pictured was me and her holding hands and my hair was huge and crazy. We had found it in her bed when we tucked her in and she was a sleep. I told Grant Oh, I bet this is me so in the morning we found out that it was me, with awesome hair.
And I love how we all have chicken feet and belly buttons.

Random

Ten minutes on the computer and this is what happened to the recycling stuff by the door! They were about 5 steps away but it really did not sound like they had done this. Even the cat had joined in. Now you know why I haven't been posting as much.

Tosh after bath time. She really like the blow dryer part, and just sits on my lap until I have to move her to dry the next spot. Isn't she a sweety? That's why we love her. Now she's nice and fluffy and clean, back to being a princess.

Frozen Chocolate covered bananas anyone?

Cute boys!

Old Mc Donald

I do believe in good nutrition and good healthy food, but there are some things that must be experienced. For my children it is their first Happy Meal I have ever bought them. Now don't get my wrong here they have had McD's before but never a happy meal w/ a toy. My reasons for not buying a happy meal is that it is an over priced toy that I'm gonna throw out in a month or so, so I never do, but they sure eat those burgers and fries, even with out a toy. This was a special day and they were so, so, so, excited I almost felt bad for not doing it sooner. It has been about a week and those toys are still as exquisite to them as the first day, but give them 2 more weeks max to be garbage.
The other two got happy meals but this one did not, and he did not even care. When everyone was busy playing and eating, this boy got down to business and stuffed his little mouth better than a hamster.
Here he is going after a his stolen fry. Don't mess with Trey's food or he will eat you! After this I explained how it is not going to happen all the time that it would be a long, long, time.(maybe within the next five years!)

Am I, my brothers keeper?

Broken camera, photo less blogs will have to do. Earlier today as I am happily viewing blogs and checking emails and the boys are playing nicely in the room next to mine, after some time Troy comes in and says: "Mom Trey has made a big mess with the diapers and wipes and the food on the table." I walk to see and it looks like the wipes exploded out of their container and there are diapers everywhere. One of Trey's new found talents. I start cleaning it with out thinking obviously I left them "unattended" for some time and this is what happens. But wait a minute? I say Troy what were YOU doing? Nothing. Well why did you not tell mami when Trey was doing this? Troy: I don't know.
Me: We you watching him do this? Or where you helping do this???!!!!
Troy: No, mom I wasn't doing any mess I was just here.
Me: Were you watching him do this?
Troy: Yes
Me: Troy next time you NEED to tell me when Trey is doing this, NOT after he is done. (and has moved on to his next project!!!) Do you understand!
The whole time we are having this talk Troy has a smirk on his face, which is only making me more upset. So I repeat myself Troy you need to tell me when he doing stuff he should not be doing okay. Still smirking, so I say other wise you will do all the clean up if he does this again! Frowns and walks away.
This does not happen when Karina is left alone in the room with him, He just needs a little bit of responsibility, it will only make him a better big brother. (right?)

Halloween 2009

First try....
Second Try.........

Never mind!
The cute fairy, the monkey and the Jedi had a wonderful time out trick or treating. Trey was literally attacking people's candy bowls, but it was oh, so cute. Trey ate the most candy of the night as he was eating them while he sat in his stroller. Everyone else had a small share and then their candy was taken away, no one has been sick and believe it or not they have been happy just earning 1 or 2 pieces a day for good behavior. This was the BEST Halloween weather ever!! The kids went to bed with their little cups overflowing with happiness and sugar.

The day before Halloween

So for some reason we just forgot to do anything with our pumpkins, we did not carve them or paint any this year. I do feel bad, but there's always next year! One thing we did do all this month is made all sorts of yummy fun treats, like Apple pie which my kids loved, and we have started our green shakes and all sort of unhealthy ones like this one.

But it sure is cute!
I thought I would make up the fact we didn't do very many Halloween activities around the house, but we real had like 5 parties to attend so I'll blame it on that.
Trey loved it, but the kid really loves anything that is edible including cat food or treats!
After cleaning his plate he proceeded to finish Troys.

Troy ate all the chocolate from it and left the banana and peanut butter, and
Karina did not disappoint.
Mine was OK maybe to much peanut butter. I think next time will try nutella instead of peanut butter.

Apple Pie

I don't makes pies but tis the season. I had to have my mother in laws recipe which I just love for good old apple pie. She was kind enough to send it to me via email from hong kong. After looking at it, I thought I think I can do this? After all I have made these before with her I think I remember how to make pie crust. I pumped myself up and started the process of peeling and macerating over night and making the crust to chill over night so I could just pop these babies out like nothing. Next day as the rolling and preparation for the apples piled on, I thought what was I thinking?? I have kids to care for? Needless to say pie making was a bit more time consuming than what I had factored in or than what I remembered, but it really was fun I just need a full weekend to do it and no children. The outcome was great we think they taste like Grandma's and that is why they are usually consumed in minutes after being baked and no pics to show for.

What is this?

Is this what your life means to you? Please tell me they outgrow these type of stunts! I can't take anymore of it! Everyday is some new crazy life threatening activity/stunt, to which I'm sure not even teenagers attempt. He has also tryed surfing up on one side of the excersaucer(which actually looks pretty cool) and jumping from the curb to the street. Now you know that 16 month old's have none of these skills specially meaty ones so he lands on his forehead with goose eggs of the actual size appearing. I always found it funny when the Dr. at our 12-15 month check up would always say make sure they are always close to you, it only take 1 minute for something bad to happen. With Trey it's more like 1/2 a minute and don't ever loose site! (unless you are in sacrement meeting!)

Now this is more like it. Yes, that is sucker he is having. I do feel bad for strapping him, so with a sucker we are all happy! This is what Karina and Troy usually ask for if they are trying to watch a show with this guy around and I don't blame them.

Troy and Football

In the beginning of October Troy played Itty bitty flag football and he loved it. He actually listened to his coach and it also helped that his buddy Brecken was in his team. He said one of his favorite things was kicking the ball. Who knows, if kicking the ball is all he would like to do I might let him play when he is older.
I know this picture doesn't show much but he really did try taking the others flag, and he even when for a touch down, but someone took his flag before crossing the line. Good Job Troy!!

Happy B-day "Tosh"

If you have a pet and a little girl in your home, you know of the most frequently asked question, Mami, when is Toshy's birthday???? Over and over again through out the year. to which my reply is always next month, and their reply is Oh, tomorrow?? No, next month! Is that next week??? Nope next month as I proceed to mention what ever month is next. Luckily one day I was making a treat for the cousins that were over for dinner and had the most brilliant idea. Why not celebrate the cat's birthday since we have people over and cake and that's all you really need for any cat's b-day. So we proceeded, thanks to the very supportive cousins, even the teenagers who sang happy b-day to the cat, and then we had our cake. So I will no longer hear this again for one more year or year and a half or hopefully never again. Poor cat! But it really is a small price to pay for a roof over her head and some food don't you think?
The kids really do love her a lot, maybe even too much if that is possible. Sometimes I think we should get a second cat just to give this one a break.
Here she is taking her daily nap on our bed. If you can't see it well Grant's phone is at the very end which means they were probably napping together this one day, but good luck trying to get him to admit it. The cat does have a thing for Grant it's too bad it's not mutual.
