Feeding Ducks

We love to go to this small pond behind our house, it's just a short bike ride away and there are about six rescue ducks that live there. I'ts great they never leave because there were some that had bad injuries and can no longer fly, their rescuers live across the street from the pond and they take them in during bad winter days. So you can basically go any time of the year and there they are. Karina and Troy love the ducks, and specially to feed them which is tricky because they come so very very close while your trying to cut your bread, sometimes I feel like they're gonna just take it from my hand. And thats really the thrill of it, that they come so close and can eat almost from your hand. Even thought we are not quite sure what it is that Troy likes the most, feeding himself or the ducks, see he never shares the bread with the ducks only cereal which he does not like so only then will he feed it to them. It's a real nice spot, except for the little snakes I see all the time I think I might have gotten Karina scared of them too. Oh well, who likes snakes anyway.

Earings

Karina just got her ears pierced a week ago, and she made sure everyone she met saw them. She even showed them to the cat several times. She told Grant that she needed to have them. I guess after her friends and cousins got them she needed them as well. All she really cares about is that they look well with her Belle costume.

October Fun!

October is one of my favorite months. It's the beginning to the holidays!

And of course, CANDY. Aside from the junk, we like to do a lot of Octoberish

stuff, like going to the Pumpkin Patch, and painting pumpkins, and growing
our very own pumpkins, this year we got six from our own garden - WOW!!-

The kids loved to watch the garden and for the pumpkins, even though they

did not grow as big as we had planned them to be, it was still fun to get some free

ones. I say some because the pumpkin patch gave us one and at walmart we found our biggest one.

So due to the size of our pumpkins we decided to
paint them instead. And it was a hit with Karina. Now Troy on the other hand did not enjoy doing that one bit, he thought painting them was the scariest thing he had ever done, so he didn't participate.

My first post

We had a great summer and we have started fall with a lot of fun things. First we FINALLY convinced Grant to let us have a pet. Isn't she beautiful. Her name is Tosh, Karina did not want a girly name but sometimes even she can't remember that she's a girl and she'll say "mami he's not listening." Both of them just adore the kitty, they pick her up and throw her around, and sit on her, anyway you can imagine what a 3 year-old and a 18 month-old do to the poor cat.
