The campers! Trey was not invited, and I had to turn them down.I love my bed more.

It's that time of the year! I have to say that I do not love canning, but I do enjoy it. It's kinda like gardening, a lot of hard work but very, very rewarding. I started Friday night by blanching and peeling my tomatoes and then started again sat. morning at 9:15 and was done by 5:15 in the evening. You might be wondering where my children were and they were camping with Grant in the backyard. And most of saturday they just played around the tent.

First Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday was the first day at school for my little girl. I held myself pretty well, did not cry but wanted to but didn't. I'm sure the teacher could clearly read the anxious expression on my face. How could I not be?? My little girl is going out on her own, and I am now a school mom! Karina on the other hand was as cool as a pickle, she was not nervous or sad or scared. Must be the Olson in her. I hope she can carry that same excitement throughout her school life. She did great, even rode the bus home and LOVED every minute of it. She only had two complaints--"mom that was along bus ride and I am hungry, you should have sent me some food to school."

California 2009

Our kids were dying to see the abuelitos and the cousins. Mainly because they get spoiled rotten! And this time was no exception. Even though we had our little Trey sick he did extremely well under the circumstances. We started by going to Stevens Creek up Cupertino for and afternoon where Trey sure had his fun. There's nothing like little bits of water here and there for a 1 year old to have a good time.

Then we headed down to Stinson beach by San Francisco. Where the day started of pretty sunny, until you get to SF then it started looking pretty grey. That proceeded till you got to the actual beach and then the winds began and the water was even more frigid than what we had expected. Never the less we had a beach day, it did get a little sunny by afternoon where they got a little brave and went in the water! One lesson we learned for the 100th time, overcast days are worst than hot sunny ones. This was the day we all got lots of sun and some of us sunburned. Grant making a brave run for it.



Trey literally went crazy with the sand. He threw it all over the place and was upset most of the time that he could not walk on it very long without falling. Then made it to Vasona park in Los Gatos. Very interesting park we went on a train ride and a pedal boat which was exhausting all in the same park oh, and the carousel at the end also. It was pretty. Troy was a bit concerned he did not want to move, see pedal boats have not seat belt and Trey was the opposite and wanted to go all over the boat.

Next beach stop was Venice beach in Half Moon Bay this was only about a half hour from home and was a much warmer day and a much warmer cold beach. It was cool, we got to see some sea lions or seals who were swimming close by.

Yes, they are running out of the water. But it was so irresistibly cold.


The kids got brave after a while and venture in on their own, well almost. Their favorite was looking for sand dollars.

Trey loved the wet sand and enjoyed the water, he made a run for it a couple of times.

Last we hit San Fran. for a little bit of everything mainly the street entertainment. I think every time we go with the kids they seem to be aware of more things. Let's just say that it's a good way for them to get cultured or shocked. Any way this last time Karina, Grant,Abuelito and Malia got to go on a fast boat ride on the bay that took them under the Bay bridge and they got to see the Golden Gate Bridge up close from the water.

This was a carousel at pier 39, I thought it pretty neat it's got a second story. All the cousins sat on this circle thing that had the same affect as the tea cups at Disneyland. It was a pretty good trip. I was expecting to be more tired but we spread things out as best as we could and did just the right amount of things you can do with 3 little kids. Some of the post trip activities have been to color our sand dollars from the beach and to jumbo size or treat container due to hitting the chocolate store at pier 39.

Troy and Soccer

So I have been excited for Troy starting boy activities because he sure has spent more time at dance class watching Karina than most boys. That I think I forgot he is only 3. We did itty bitty soccer at the legacy center, most of the time he was a bit shy or I guess lost would be a better word, but I do think he liked it.

He liked his last day where he got to see a familiar face. Can't wait to see what football is like.

First Things First

This was my project before I left for Cali. and I was a bit disappointed because I had tried them and I did not like the taste, but one week latter like the instructions said they were Tasty! I've never pickled or canned peppers so this was exciting for me.

Swim class

So far this has been the most productive swimming class we have ever had. Our kids actually learned one thing....to go under water and open their eyes! Hurray for them! I will Admit I got carried away taking pictures and video, but it was so exciting to see your children learn something and putting it to practice. Although when I thought about this great mile stone they had accomplished I did not recall learning this myself, it just kinda came naturally. So warning if you continue to read this post you will only find a gloating parent and pictures of children who have accomplished nothing major at all. I am still so proud of them for their hard work and happy spirits in doing swimming class.

Karina also did better with putting head under the water and did very, very well in the class over all. But her teacher said to repeat her level again, due to her size.(translation she's too short)
