Christmas past

We had such a wonderful Christmas, we hope you all had a great time together with your families as well. I think this will be one of the most memorable ones, because as our children grow they are not going to be as happy to have SANTA come to our home with presents, though I wish it would stay like this forever. The kids loved their presents. I think we did good this year, they played with their toys and are still playing with them, and that's how you know you did well ladies and gentlemen! One of our favorite presents came from Hong Kong. Their grandparents sent them these cute shirts with their names written in chinese formal calligraphy and their meaning in chinese. Karina has three characters meaning 1. Admiration 2. Lotus flower 3. Elegant. Troy means Fortress, and boy is he a Fortress of fun! Trey means Excellent, and I know this is coming from his mother, but he really is one excellent baby! Anyway they were by far one of the best gifts. Also is our grandma good or what?? She has not seen these children since April, infact she's never met Trey, but she was still able to buy shirts that fit our kids perfect, even our little chunk Trey. Thanks Grandparents we love you!

Snowman in the making

We finally have snow. The poor children have been waiting for the snow to make a snowman and we have not had sufficient snow to do anything with it, their has not been enough to shovel it. In fact the first time it snowed Troy said," lets go out and make a snowman with a carrot nose!" So Tuesday morning they were excited. Karina left for preschool knowing when she came back they were going to make a snowman. Thank goodness Grant was working from home, because I sure was not going to go out and play in the snow nor make a snowman! So here it is the snow man in the making. Thanks to our sister in law Elizabeth for giving us these jazz clapper thingies, they make great snow man arms and at he same time it's saying "Go Jazz!"

Well he had a carrot nose( but we only had baby carrots) so its a bit small, and he had a bright skittles smile and some whopper buttons. I think he looks great. Good job Grant! I think Karina and Troy did not help much, they did enjoy watching though and playing in the snow. They love being able to just move the curtains and say "Hi" to the snowman. Today they said, mami he's still there!

Monday night

Monday night we had a great FHE. We had a graham cracker house making contest with our left over halloween candy. It may be gross to you all to use this old candy, but it makes for an awesome selection when building "gingerbread" homes. We had the Grant Olson group, the Ben Olson group and the Coutts group. We all did pretty good, but the Ben Olson group did the best. Good thing we had Holly be the judge she was very fair and had all the homes win, each had a feature to why they were the best. Ben's group had great windows and it was nice and tall, ours had a great entrance and canopies on the roof, and the Coutts had great snow. They had a blizzard come and blow their house down. I'll have to say the Ben group had a great roof too.

DANCE RECITAL!

Today was our Christmas dance recital at the festival of trees. It was so cute!!! Our little Karina did so good, considering that she had the stomach flu yesterday night, but please don't be mad at me for exposing everyone. She was feeling a lot better today and if anyone gets it, it will be me. No one has been closer to barf than myself, lets just leave it at that. Anyway she did awesome this was the tap routine, come spring they will be doing the ballet one so stay tunned. Even Troy congratulated her on her performance. But enough talk, here she is the real, real, short one on the front row 3rd one down from the right.

She ended up only doing like half of the dance, since she spent the other half doing the one step she really likes, but it was still darn cute! Maybe it just looked cute because she's only like 3 sizes smaller than all the other girls??

Christmas is here !!!

This last Monday we had a couple of our friends over for FHE. The kids love to see each other and we love to visit, and of course have family home evening. This week, since it's December and it was at our home. I decided to ask my next door neighbor, who also happens to be our hometeacher, if he would come to our home dressed as Santa.(I did not ask him randomly, I knew he had a Santa suit) It was so much fun to actually have Santa at our house. I told our kids that this was special, and that he does not come to every ones home before Christmas, but that they were lucky. They were so impressed, because this is the first year that Karina actually gets it, even Troy gets it for being so little. They loved every minute of it and went to bed very happy to know it's almost Christmas and they got tell Santa what they wanted.

We read a couple of Christmas stories while we waited for Santa. Thanks Jenny they were hooked!!

You can see Troy just bouncing up and down, he did not even care for the gifts he had, he was just thrilled to see him. We had requests for train sets, a bow and arrow, and kitchens and Troy's special request.... a Yo-Yo. Yes I know, interesting request for a boy living in the year 2008, but he just likes them. This has to be one of my favorite activities so far, I hope it was for everyone else.

I realize that this was only a success because of their ages, so I feel I have to cherish every moment of it. Time goes by so fast, I wish they could stay like this forever.

So sorry

My dear husband told me how much he enjoyed reading our blog, except for all the small grammar errors he has been finding. To which I honestly have no excuse for not proof reading my posts. But I would like to add, just so all you readers know. It gets pretty crazy to keep up the blog with these kiddies, so most of the time I have one or all three of them with me while I'm on the computer, and usually I'm holding Trey. So just imagine typing with one hand and holding an 18 pound baby with the other. And on top of that, English is not my first language, and English was not my major, and I'm also usually cooking or doing one other thing aside watching the kids and blogging. I probably should not be doing all those things at oncce, I should just be watching the kids, but I feel like I have to use my brain for something other than changing diapers, cleaning and cooking. So if you can read past that, please enjoy reading!!!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My parents came from Cali, and that's always a treat! The kids loved to see the abuelitos and this time they even got to see the cousins that speak espanol, like Karina says.(Even thought the girls only speak to her in english) We got to see the Christmas lights at Temple Square, and we went up to Sundance for some sledding fun. We actually used some plastic mats, that were super fast and lots of fun. Thanks fam. for visiting us and our children, and for going shopping with me on "black friday". Which I'll never do again, it was too scary.

This was my dad and Trey Thankgivig day, sleep got the best of them. We had a great time.

More updates

This last weekend the boys were sick, for the second Sunday in a row I have been home with sick snotty and coughy kids. I felt as if I would be go through a glow light for germs I would glow from head to toe. Both Saturday and Sunday I was in my pj's all day due to the amount of snot and other bodily functions that my body seemed to have a magnet for. But things are getting better now, they are looking better and hopefully will be all better by Thanksgiving.

So Monday night on our way back from FHE at Grant's sister as we were turning from 700 west Grant said he saw a kitty, so I said let's see how big is it?? So he turns all the way around to shine the light on this tiny little thing that you could barely see because it blended in with the road. I picked it up, this little thing would have never survived. Brought it home for the night and Animal control picked it up this morning. Funny thing is the animal control guy asked me if it was a kitten I said yes, it's tiny. Shows up to our house and has a cage and a giant stick with a hook at the end, I guess to tame the wild "kitten". He left not saying anything, maybe disappointed at not having a chance to use it. Anyway, Karina and Troy had a blast babysitting the little orphan, actually we all did. I still think She would have been a great addition to the Wright family.( Just so you know what you missed out on Bishop and Natalie)

And today we had a field trip to go with our preschool to the lehi firehouse on center street. It was a hit. Troy loved to go on the fire truck and he specially loved to get the fire hats at he end. We are lucky our teacher allows siblings to come along. The firemen were very nice.

We have had eventful days, weather it be sickness or not we always have something going on. I guess that is the privilege of having three children 4 and under. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Weekend update

This weekend we decided to do an activity as a family. So we asked Karina to pick, she chose to go bowling. Which I thought to be a great idea. Off we went bowling and it was fun, until they figured out they had to wait their turn, and I never thought the kids would ruin my game.( that was for Grant) It was a fun activity that I never want to do with little children again, until they are acouple years older. But really it was fun, it's just that there are only few things I think I'm good at and bowling was one of those, and since I had a bad game day and a bad wrist, I'm gonna have to give Grant credit to for bowling the game of his life. Good Job sweety!!

This was Troy getting in the way while waiting, and getting into other peoples business.

Onto the next item. I found some Curious George pj's at walmart this last week and if you know my kinds you'll know that they just love Curious George so of course I bought them. Troy's first reaction was, can I wear these all day and all night?? Needless to say they wore them every single night except Sunday night, because they were smelly by then.

What vain kids!!

Last item on the agenda, we were to take pictures for the Grandparents in Hong Kong, and I just could not help to post these pics, they were so cute, especially Trey, he looks like a fairy accidentally sprinkled dust and poof!!!! He got huge right before our eyes. He's not even 5 months yet. His cheeks are probably the size of Karina and Troy combined.

Now wasn't this weekend update better than SNL's.

Churchy

Lately I've been asked to do some things for church, which made me deeply search in the scriptures and other church materials. It made me feel so good about just being who I am and my family and grateful to have the gospel in my life. I'm glad to be part of the only true church and I just wanted to share it with you all.

Happy Halloween Everyone

We had a great time trick or treating, due to the super weather we were able to walk a good ways and get some good treats. We had the cutest costumes this year, so cute I could not make up my mind as to which was my favorite. We had a "pretty witch" and a cute little monkey who called himself "curious G" Thanks Grant for the ghetto nick name, in reality he wanted to be curious george, but that costume was not nearly as warm as this one.
Then we had the cutes little turtle, it even had a shell! (Check out those cheeks)

And last but not least we had a chicken, no one can top this one!!
For the last 2 years now Karina does not stop asking me what "Tosh" will be for halloween. So this year I thought I would end the asking madness and give in. Thanks target for making Karina so happy that her pet had a costume. It was worth it! Poor cat, I think she wishes we never would have found her, and she might be planning her next escape after tonight.

Little Pumpkins

Hurray!! we made it our one year of blogging. I started one year ago last October when we were painting our pumpkins we grew from our garden for the first time. So this year went the same, except we did not paint the big ones. I thought it was too hard for the kids to paint them so we went for the little ones this year, and they were a success. Everyone had a great time painting their pumpkins from our garden.
I think Grant enjoyed it as much as the kids. Due to our new addition this year I did not get to paint any pumpkins, plus some one had to get some footage.
This was Troy's work, he was so glad to be part of it this year. Last year he kinda freaked out and did not want to paint the pumpkins because he thought they were too scary. So I had to include his work this year.
I think the little ones look better. Don' t you???

Roasted Marshmellows

So I'm just going to throw my tid bit to Jen post "campfire". We really had a great time with friends and the much anticipated and awaited fire. Troy was fascinated with our entire outing, poor child had never been up in the mountains his entire life, or seen his daddy so intense about starting a fire.(as you can see him pointing to the flame in the pic) All in all our boy scouts did not disappoint, they weren't exactly Bear Grylls, but they'll do I guess. J/K

Karina was feeling unsure about the whole eventful night, but the next day she said she would go again, and I agreed. Then I got thinking maybe next time when we start getting snow, maybe we should go and do some sledding, that way no fire will be involved because I really do hate the smell of smoke. The best part of it all was.....
CLEAN KIDS AFTERWARDS. NO TRACE OF SMOKE THERE!(and the fact that they woke up like at 8am the next morning instead of 7.)

BUSTED!!

Friday night Grant and I caught ourselves a big CAT! That blasted cat has been eating our kitty's food for like 2 weeks now. When we caught him the first time, he was able to get out of the carrier because it was not secure enough, but not the second time! Not only was he eating it but I bet he probably was harassing our kitty too. And it had some serious skills because it was opening our food container to get more food, he could lift the tabs and bump the lid off, no matter how we positioned the container. All I can say is I sleep better now that he has gone to the kitty jail. (Animal shelter)

I think there may be one more cat hitting our house, and he better watch out because Grant and I are actually pretty good at this. Or maybe the animal control dude better watch out, if he wants to keep his job.

CALIFORNIA 2008

We had a great time with my family, the kids loved going on a trip and they were very good.(I guess it help that we drove through the night.) While there we went to Capitola beach which is about 1/2 hour from where were and up by the Santa Cruz mountains. There is a neat looking sunken ship at this beach too. The weather was perfect, except for if you have ever been to a Northern Cali beach they are quite frigid, but the kids loved the sand more than anything.
Grant and Troy did some Bogey boarding but Troy had one nasty slip, and said he did not want to do any more because he ate some water.
It was quite windy so Trey was covered most of the time. But he looked cute with his swim suit on.

Another day they went swimming, but again it was too windy and and the water to cold. But they loved being by the water.

San Francisco was too much fun. Karina thought the city itself was fun. There are enough distractions with out actually paying for them, just along the street. Like the silver men, who have not lived up to their usual standards of cool, were non the less interesting for the kids. Pier 39 was great, the sea lions are fun to watch and this time we went to the under the bay aquarium, which was pretty cool, you walk through one of the underwater tunnels with lots of different kinds of sharks. And then at the end you go back up to pet the sting rays, star fish and a baby tiger shark, it was pretty neat.

It really was lots of fun. I might even do it again.
